Dear Little Bat Bird

Anna Eckert-Kramer '15

Dear little bat bird,
head crushed in.

I'm sorry for my stiletto.

I would hate to hurt
a defenseless being.

You must have deserved it.

How else could your blood now leak
from this gaping hole?

Is this all some game to you?
Stain the sidewalk to make a girl feel guilty.

I was born reprehensible,
you can't add to it.

Don't try it little boy!
I will smear a thousand bats
Across a thousand sidewalks

Before I let you touch my crown.
